I am not a Men’s Rights Activist and I never will be. I will never be any kind of activist. I don’t really care. I don’t like feminism and all, but I feel like I don’t have much more to say on the matter than what I’ve already said. My feeling is that feminism has done it’s damage and that it’s silly to bother with whatever the hell modern feminists are bitching about at any given moment. It’s good to pay attention when they lobby the legislature/voters, but that’s about it. I’ve thought about going back and digging through what second-wave feminists actually said, and I still might. The point would be to get people to question what is now the status quo, but I don’t know if that would actually work. The thought of being a political activist of any sort fills me with meh. It doesn’t seem to be a very manly pursuit.

Well, I get your point and stuff, but this:

is sort of silly. Since when has Revolution been a female pursuit? The idea of political activism being ‘feminine’ is laughable. Men are even stereotyped as talking about nothing but sports and politics, although these days apparently all we have left is sports???
I mean, do what you want, but that’s pretty weak reasoning.
While I’m not one to go around demanding that people must think like me (ugh at the thought), I have to disagree that the ‘damage is done’.
These people won’t STOP, and they’re more powerful now than they have ever been.
Activism is a pointless pursuit. If you’re male, female, purple, a crack-addicted hermaphrodite with daddy issues, it doesn’t matter. Everyone has something important to say, and everyone is wrong.
Activism isn’t about not being wrong. It’s about convincing other people that the other guy is wrong.
I understand the intention, but it doesn’t make it any less pointless. One person(s) is declaring they are right and the other is wrong, while the other is declaring that they are the in the right and the other is wrong, so on and so forth, and in the meantime nothing is getting done on either side. Activism begets more activism.
Nothing gets done? lol. I think a cursory glance at history will show that one side tends to win, rather than opponents remaining in permanent stalemate.
I think tug-of-war is a better way to describe it than a stalemate. When one side is held in favor over the other, the other side finds reasons to pull harder, and it’s a back and forth match. This may not be in every case, but in most. Just how I see it.
